Just Saying Hello – Simon Says Stamp “Love is in the Air challenge”

Hello everyone! For today’s card I am participating in the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge “Love is in the Air”

The theme of the challenge was to make a love card.

To make this card, I decided to use a heart shaped die with a piece of black and pink patterned paper. After that, I used the Stitched Rectangles from Simon Says Stamp and die cut the paper I had put the heart on.

Next I die cut a piece of pink cardstock so it could go on top of my card base using the Stitched Rectangles again. Then I used a different piece of cardstock and using the Eggplant stamp pad from Close to my Heart, I ink blended on the paper. I then die cut this piece of cardstock with the Stitched Rectangles as well.

The next step was to use the scalloped die set from Neat and Tangled, and die cut a banner from a piece of cream colored cardstock.

For the last piece I needed, I chose the Twine and Bows die set from Pretty Pink Posh and I die cut the biggest bow in the set from a piece of bright pink cardstock.

Now it was time to layout the card. First, I attached the pink piece of cardstock onto the card base. Next, I adhered the piece that I had ink blended in the center of the card. Then I attached some foam tape onto the back of the piece which had the heart that I had die cut, and I put it right on top of the previous piece so you could see the color behind the heart.

Next I stamped a sentiment using the Everyday Sayings stamp set from Hero Arts and adhered the banner to my card.

The next step was to stamp the “hugs” and “Smile” sentiments on the card. I used two different stamp sets for that. I used The Floral Motifs from Altenew for the smile stamp and Snowman Hugs from Mint Owl Studio for the hugs stamp.

Finally, I attached the pink bow right below the heart and used a black pen to draw stitched lines around the heart.

That completes my card for today and I hope it encourages you to enjoy some card making too!
