“Ocean Journeys” Card

Hello everyone!

Today’s card was made using the stamp set “Ocean Journeys” from Whimsy Stamps. The first step was to die cut a piece of patterned paper using the “Card Builder: Many Thanks” set from Whimsy Stamps to create the background of the card.

After that came the next layer, which I chose a piece of yellow cardstock that I die cut with the Celebrations “Pierced Circles” from Spellbinders so the stamp being used could sit on top of it.

The main feature of the card was next… Coloring the sailboat from the stamp set using markers. I then used a watercolor brush to blend the colors. After the boat was finished, the two lobster buoys were next, and they were colored the same way the boat was.

The sentiment on the card, which was from The Ton Stamps “Thanks a Bunch” stamp set, was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock with black ink and fussy cut, leaving just a little bit of white around the edges so it would have a border around it. But before attaching the sentiment to the card, the blue banner that the sentiment is on was die cut using the banner die from the same set (“Card Builder: Many Thanks” ) as the background

Once all the die cutting and laying out was done, the next step was to adhere the background, then the yellow cardstock as well as the banner. After that the sailboat was attached to the yellow cardstock using foam tape to give it some dimension. The sentiment was also attached to the blue banner using foam tape, and the lobster buoys next to it were adhered on each side of it.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card. Have a nice day everyone.
