Sending a Smile Card

Giraffe Card - Full CardBaby Giraffe

Welcome fellow crafty friend! Today I am sharing with you a card featuring the new Baby Animals stamp set which is part of the April release by Whimsy Stamps. I thought the giraffe from this set was just the cutest little thing.

To start out, I stamped the giraffe onto a piece of white cardstock and colored it in using Copic markers. Once he was dry, I fussy cut around him and set it aside while I designed the overall card layout.

I chose a diamond pattern with various shades of blue as the background and die cut it with the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles from Whimsy Stamps. For the next step I used the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn and die cut both a piece of grey paper, and then a piece of blue paper. Giraffe Card - Giraffe ViewYou can use any colors that you want for this card; I was choosing colors that went with the blue diamond patterned paper.

Now it was time to add a sentiment. I die cut a circle onto white cardstock using the Nestabilities Large Standard Circles from Spellbinders. After that I stamped a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps’ Handmade from Me stamp set onto the circle I had die cut using the Dusk ink pad from Altenew.

The next step was to lay everything out onto my card base. Once it was all in the right place I thought the background needed a little something added to it so I die cut a piece of blue-green paper with the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles that I had used previously.

Once that was done, all of the background pieces were adhered. Since I wanted the giraffe to be the focal point, I used foam tape to the adhere him, giving it dimension.
