Fox and Hearts Card

Hello, and welcome back to my blog!

Lots of Hugs - Full viewToday’s card features a cute fox from Some Odd Girl’s Hippster Pets Stamp Set. I stamped the fox onto white cardstock, and colored it with copic markers. For the card base, I took some brown cardstock and stamped it with the Hero Arts Wood Grain background stamp to give it a wooden look. I then did some inlay die cutting with Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Rectangles to add a subtle edge.

After that, I cut out a circle, and inlay die cut the grass and sky with My Favorite Things Grassy Fields and Stitched Circles from Simon Says Stamp, before coloring them both with distress inks.

Wanting to make the circle pop of the brown background some more, I used Lawn Fawn’s Scalloped Circle Stackables to make a white border, which I glued to the circle.

Instead of keeping the sky clear, I decided to add some clouds using Lawn Fawn’s Spring Showers die set, before attaching the fox with foam tape.

After that, I glued the whole piece onto the card base and set out on adding the finishing touches.

Using Hero Arts XO stamp set, I stamped a sentiment saying “Lots of Hugs”, and embossed it with Ranger Embossing Ink to make it pop.

And lastly, I used Simon Says Stamp’s Holiday Shapes die cut to make the small hearts. After coating them a glossy accent, I attached them to the base with foam tape in order to raise them off the paper.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
